Assessment the Learning Levels of the Students Special Programs for Advanced Learners and Slow Learners

Assessment of advanced learners

  1. Advanced learners need many things. They need acceleration so that they can progress through the curriculum at their learning pace, which is significantly faster than those at their grade level. They need at least some creative experiences so that they can experiment, invent, and apply what they’ve learned. They need materials with which to work their ideas and explore new lines of inquiry. Many also need sensitive handling, as they may feel socially isolated because of their passion for learning. Advanced Learners are identified by the teachers through their intellectual ability, High degree of creativity & heightened sensibilities.

  2. To assess these gifted abilities the various opportunities given to advanced learners of our college includes Library reading, internet browsing, net based assignments, using educational interactive dot coms like MOODLESCLOUD.com, Dot net, using educational CDs for references works, individual projects works, power point presentation, microteaching (students seminars), role plays, participation in inter collegiate seminars, group discussion, field trips/job fair participation, educational tours & Participation in extension activities. Some of the above mentioned programs captured are given for the visualization.

Slow Learners

  1. The core problem of slow learners’ education is their weak cognitive skills coupled with the slow speed learning. A teacher has to be understanding and patient toward their ability to get distracted easily and having a low attention span. Actually slow learners are normal students but the problem is that they are simply not interested in studying under traditionally accepted system of education. To assess the slow learners learning skills, repetitive technique based teaching methods are used

Remedial Teaching

  1. Remedial teaching this is an alternate approach for the regular classroom teacher in instructing the slow learner. Remedial teaching is the use of activities, techniques and practices to eliminate weaknesses or deficiencies that the slow learner is known to have. In our college remedial coaching classes are conducted in each department for the some complicated topics in the syllabus. Language improvement classes are conducted to improve their communication skills. Some of the remedial coaching method documents and photos arefollowed in our college are listed given below:
